When: T-Ball (pre-kdg. & kdg.) is played in the month of June, usually held on Sundays. They may scrimmage other towns if the coach chooses to arrange it. Otherwise they play against each other. Forms for t-ball are sent home with each student in April. 1st-6th graders will begin practices in April, with games beginning mid May and ending around the last week of June.
Who: The summer ball program is open to students that have COMPLETED Pre-kindergarten - 6th grades. No preschool age students.
Forms: Are sent home w/students in 1st-6th grades during the school day in March. A form will also be available on this website.
Goals: To teach the fundamental skills and rules associated with softball & baseball. The students will be able to use those skills to participate in games.
Where: Practices are held in Greene. Games are in several area towns in the Shell Rock Valley League. For example Rockford, Nora Springs, and Nashua.
We always need coaches and helpers to be in charge of practices and the games, or we won’t have teams.
Uniform & Equipment: A jersey and baseball/softball pants are required for those in 1st grade -6th grade. Each student will need to bring their own glove and wear proper shoes. All other equipment is provided. Jerseys are ordered through the committee, see the registration forms.
Team Picture Day: A date will be scheduled to have individual and team pictures. Envelopes will be handed out as soon as a date has been set.
Concession Stand Workers: Each family is needed to sign up to work in the concession stand one time during the season. You have the opportunity to pick your day, or one will be assigned to you if you don't call the person in charge. You may choose to pay a fee to not work a shift. See the registration form for more information. Umpires: Behind the plate and base umpires will be paid for Pony: grades 3 & 4, and Little League, grades 5 & 6. Contact a committee member if you are interested. $20 for base umpire and $25 for behind the plate.
